As the Waves Come Rolling In
As the waves come rolling in,
A tide sets by the sea,
The river rapids dull their pace,
For all eternity,
For calmness sets by rolling waves,
White water strong and clear,
No more does darkness strive with haste,
No weeping willow near,
Tomorrow's land has switched the lights,
And gone is what's to come,
The now is all that matters,
And today's not cumbersome,
The tides will melt like western skies,
As gravity defied,
There is no been there, did that, done,
No should have, could have, tried,
The day will turn to nowness,
And the rapids gentle streams,
The water laps with wonder,
And the waves are pillow dreams.
